Two brothers, who allegedly killed a teenage boy by cutting off his head for the purpose of selling it for a sum of N200,000, were
yesterday arraigned before the Lagos High Court in Igbosere, Lagos.
The brothers, Saheed Obadimeji, 19, and 20- year-old Ayodeji Obadimeji, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Lagos State prosecutor, Mr Tunde Sunmonu, told the court that the defendants and others at large committed the alleged offences on
November 27, 2018, by 8.30pm at an uncompleted building in Sapati town, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
Sunmonu said the defendants forcefully accosted the boy, Joseph Makinde, who was sent on errand by one of their neighbours, lured him into an uncompleted building and killed him.
He added that the defendants intended to sell the boy’s head, which they cut off, for N200,000.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendants in prison and called for a speedy trial.
