African legend Samuel Eto’o has bemoaned the struggles of coach of colour in trying to secure a coaching badge.
The likes of Lampard, Terry and Gerrard have already started their coaching career, but their African counterparts are finding that hard to do, due to their inability to secure a coaching license.
Eto’o is looking to embark on his coaching career after he ends his career on the field of play.
However, the ex-Barcelona and Inter Milan talisman is concerned about the perceived bias regarding Africans.
“Many black former players don’t get the coaching license, but there are also many who do have this,” Eto’o told Canal+.
“There is a lack of trust. That trust doesn’t exist and we are seen as second-class citizens.”
